Meanwhile, NRW Holdings Ltd (ASX:) added 6.76% or 0.12 points to end at 1.81 and Flight Centre Ltd (ASX:) was up 5.98% or 0.66 points to 11.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mesoblast Ltd (ASX:), which fell 31.01% or 1.510 points to trade at 3.360 at the close. Challenger Ltd (ASX:) declined 7.60% or 0.330 points to end at 4.010 and Perseus Mining Ltd (ASX:) was down 6.35% or 0.100 points to 1.475.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 640 to 596 and 359 ended unchanged.
