Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.98%

© © Reuters Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.98% – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.98% to hit a new 6-months high, while the index climbed 0.94%, and the index added 1.30%.

The best performers of the session on the were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:), which rose 3.94% or 0.905 points to trade at 23.855 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:) added 2.17% or 1.260 points to end at 59.275 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:) was up 1.88% or 2.57 points to 138.96 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:), which fell 0.94% or 0.095 points to trade at 10.060 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:) declined 0.40% or 0.23 points to end at 57.59 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:) was down 0.39% or 0.060 points to 15.150.

The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (DE:) which rose 5.02% to 40.180, Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:) which was up 4.02% to settle at 12.950 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 2.80% to close at 67.850.

The worst performers were Airbus Group SE (DE:) which was down 1.95% to 70.22 in late trade, RTL Group SA (DE:) which lost 1.72% to settle at 28.580 and Grenke N AG (DE:) which was down 1.39% to 60.50 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:) which rose 3.94% to 23.855, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 2.80% to settle at 67.850 and Aixtron SE (DE:) which gained 2.72% to close at 10.465.

The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:) which was down 2.08% to 259.00 in late trade, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:) which lost 0.42% to settle at 164.10 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:) which was down 0.39% to 15.150 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 428 to 236 and 87 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.77% or 34.05 to $1957.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.12% or 0.05 to hit $43.40 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.09 to trade at $46.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1837, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8955.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.852.
